Who fancies clay pigeon shooting ? Well now it’s possible with Disabled Shooters Group

The DSG was formed over 20 years ago to provide regular competitions for disabled shooters. Membership is also open to able bodied shooters, many of which are friends and relatives of the disabled members.

Between March and November the group meets at different shooting grounds around the UK for a full days competition. It is also a welcome social opportunity.

In 2012 the DSG was officially recognised by the Clay Pigeon Shooting Association (CPSA) and is now working with the association to develop opportunities for the disabled clay target shooter. This has already resulted in disabled categories being introduced in national championships run by the CPSA.

In addition the DSG has enabled some members to take part in overseas matches, including the Grand Prix matches initiated by the Italians in 2011 which run alongside the ISSF World Cup matches. This has led to the International Paralympic Committee excepting Clay target shooting as an official candidate for the inclusion in the Paralympic games and the DSG is contributing to the development of this.

The DSG is the national body for disabled clay target shooting.

Our main aims – to offer clay shooting for disabled people of all levels of skill and ability, including the opportunity to officially represent Great Britain.

DSG membership is not just for wheelchair users, anybody with a listed disability can join and of course family, friends and carers are also welcomed as able-bodied members, whose support and help is always appreciated within the group.

As you look through the site hopefully you will see something of interest which could lead to a whole new lease of life, meeting some new friends, getting out and about and enjoying what life has to offer.

The DSG has a committee which does an incredible job of arranging events, raising funds, campaigning for the disabled shooter and many other things that keep the group running. The main committee members are

Adrian Last: Treasurer, Life President and co founder. Based in Suffolk and has won 4 Gold medals gained in the World Championships in 2004,2005,2007 and 2008.

Sam Nunn: Secretary. Based in Suffolk Sam organises the shooting events. Sam also won Disabled Shooter of the Year awarded by the CPSA in 2014.

Julie Sperling: Para Trap GB and committee member
