Disabled British Airways passenger left ‘humiliated’ after staff drop her on her HEAD as they carried her off plane

DISABLED British Airways passenger was dropped on her head by staff as she was carried off a plane.

Multiple sclerosis sufferer Belinda Castle, 63, has vowed to sue after she was left “humiliated” at Heathrow.

Belinda, who is virtually totally paralysed, flew home from Barcelona last week with her family.

They had requested four crew help carry her to a wheelchair.

But daughter Claire, a TV producer, said: “Just two men turned up. We explained they would not be able to cope, but they ignored us.

“They then dropped Mum head first just outside the aircraft doors.”

Mum-of-five Belinda, a former legal secretary from Ipswich, lay in pain on the ground for 20 minutes until paramedics arrived.

She was lifted when more help arrived and later treated for head, rib, leg and arm injuries.

Claire added: “She is extremely upset and suffered humiliation and loss of dignity.”

BA has refunded her fare and is investigating with passenger assistance provider Omniserv, which said it was “deeply concerned” over the incident.

But Belinda said: “My disabled assistance was organised through BA. I feel BA is passing the buck.”
